For your first 1 drink, if you’re after something refreshing, the slightly unexpected myoga gin sonic is an appealing choice. Bar Freya’s cocktail menu ranges from drinks with a fresh, aromatic character to fruit cocktails made with Shine Muscat grapes or kiwi, alongside classics such as gin and tonic and the Sidecar. There are options to suit the mood of the day.
The whisky selection is extensive, too, with smoky single malts such as Laphroaig 10 Year and Ardbeg Ten, as well as Japanese whiskies including Yamazaki, Hakushu and Ichiro’s Malt. Easy-going highballs made with Chivas Mizunara or Maker’s Mark are also on offer, along with beers such as Heartland and Guinness Stout—making it easy to settle in with a glass.
Food to accompany your drink, in a relaxed setting
For a bite with your drink, choose from easy snacks such as smoked nuts and tortilla chips, or try Anayos topped with chilli beans and an assortment of sausages. If you’re after something more substantial, there are hot sandwiches such as tuna and cheese or bacon omelette, as well as pasta including carbonara and Bolognese.
The quiet, comfortable interior has counter seating as well as tables where small groups can settle in. Open from 18:00 in the evening until 2:00, it makes a welcome place to enjoy a quiet 1 drink at the end of the day or continue a conversation after dinner.
